Modern kids love to discover something new.  Have you ever sent them on a treasure hunt or played the game “you’re getting warmer” when they come close to finding the next clue or the surprise waiting for them?  Parents can have a lot of fun sending young adventurers to the backyard for a treasure hunt. Clues can start in the house and lead them to the backyard for the bounty!  Whether it’s chocolate coins, shiny rocks, or a “real” pirate chest, the thrill of discovery sparks creativity, teamwork, and hours of imaginative play.

It’s a great way to help young minds as they listen to or read clues and learn to follow instructions. And what a sense of accomplishment when intuition steps in and leads the way to a mountain of goodies.
